Official team lists, updates and injury news for round 6 of the 2022 Telstra Premiership season.
Round 6 Team Lists
Raiders v Cowboys, Thursday 7.50pm at GIO Stadium
Raiders: Xavier Savage has been added to the bench for his first game of the season and Matt Frawley drops out. Center Matt Timoko has been named despite coping a knee to the back against the Storm. Veteran Jarrod Croker is listed among the reserves and could be a chance to play his first game of the season if Timoko fails to come up.
Cowboys: Coen Hess (shoulder) has been named to return at prop so Reuben Cotter goes back to the bench. Connelly Lemuelu is the other new face on the bench. Jamayne Taunoa-Brown and Griffin Neame will miss the match due to concussion protocols.
Rabbitohs v Bulldogs, Friday 4.00pm at Accor Stadium
Rabbitohs: Blake Taaffe steps in to Latrell Mitchell’s shoes at fullback just as he did during last year’s finals series. Hame Sele is the new face on the interchange bench.
Bulldogs: Kyle Flanagan again wears the No.7 after an assured performance against the Panthers. Hris Patolo returns to the 17 after he was 18th man last week. Ava Seumanufagai was a late inclusion last week at Patolo’s expense and he is again listed among the reserves.
Panthers v Broncos, Friday 7.55pm at BlueBet Stadium
Panthers: The Panthers field the same 17 for the third successive week as they look to build on their imposing 5-0 start to their title defense.
Broncos: Payne Haas was not considered following the NRL’s decision to impose sanctions for his involvement in an incident last month with team-mate Albert Kelly.
Haas’ place in the front row will be taken by Corey Jensen with Rhys Kennedy joining the interchange bench. Corey Oates (ankle) and Adam Reynolds (knee) will be monitored but are expected to be right to play.
Sea Eagles v Titans, Saturday 5.30pm at 4 Pines Park
Sea Eagles: Tolutau Koula returns from a calf injury at center in place of Morgan Harper (COVID) in the only change from the side that beat the Knights last week.
Titans: Brian Kelly returns to center with Phil Sami shifting to the wing and Corey Thompson dropping out. Sam Lisone displaces Kevin Proctor on the interchange. Jayden Campbell is still at least a week away.
Storm v Sharks, Saturday 7.35pm at AAMI Park
Storm: Tyran Wishart returns on the bench for his third NRL game, with Alec MacDonald dropping out.
Sharks: Veteran Aiden Tolman returns to the bench after missing last week’s game due to COVID. He replaces Royce Hunt in the Shark’ only change.
Roosters v Warriors, Sunday 2.00pm at Sydney Cricket Ground
Roosters: Sio Siua Taukeiaho (calf) has been named to return after missing last week while hooker Sam Verrills is also set to play his first NRL game of the season. Fletcher Baker maintains his spot in the 17 with Drew Hutchison and Daniel Suluka-Fifita both dropping out and into the reserves.
Warriors: Jack Murchie is out, replaced by Eliesa Katoa on the bench in an otherwise unchanged line-up to the side that defeated the Cowboys in golden point last week. Dallin Watene-Zelezniak comes onto the wing. Marcelo Montoya received a four-game ban at the judicial on Tuesday for using a homophobic slur during the game against the Cowboys.
Dragons v Knights, Sunday 4.05pm at WIN Stadium
Dragons: Josh Maguire and Tyrell Fuimaono have been named to return from their long suspensions with Maguire coming onto the bench and Fuimaono listed in the reserves. Josh Kerr earns a promotion in the starting side with Aaron Woods dropping back to the bench. George Burgess comes in for Jackson Ford, who is among the reserves.
Knights: David Klemmer (knee) has been named to make an early return for the injury-hit side. His return shifts Jacob Saifiti to the bench in a boost with Jirah Momoisea (elbow) sidelined. After more than 18 months on the sidelines, former Maroons winger Edrick Lee will make his return on the wing following a foot injury. He replaces Dom Young (knee).
Eels v Wests Tigers, Monday 4.00pm at CommBank Stadium
Els: Waqa Blake (knee) is out for an extended period with Marata Niukore coming in at center and Will Penisini switching to the wing. Junior Paulo accepted a one-match ban for dangerous contact with Oregon Kaufusi replacing him up front. Shaun Lane (hamstring) returns, pushing Ryan Matterson to the bench. Bryce Cartwright reverts back to 18th player while Mitch Rein maintains his spot on the bench.
Wests Tigers: Michael Maguire has made a host of changes in reaction to the side’s fifth straight loss. Daine Laurie is listed to return after missing the Sharks clash due to a positive COVID-19 test. His return will see Starford To’a move back to the wing. Jackson Hastings returns from suspension, shifting Luke Brooks to five-eighth and Jock Madden to the bench. James Roberts is also back and replaces Oliver Gildart in the centers. Ken Maumalo, Jacob Liddle and Tyrone Peachey have also been dropped to the extended bench with Jake Simpkin coming into hooker.
