Nigerian pilots and technicians arrive in Türkiye for training on the T129 ATAK attack helicopters

Nigerian pilots and technicians have arrived at the Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) facilities where they will undergo training on how to operate the T129 ATAK attack helicopters.

According to PUNCH, 26 Nigerian Air Force personnel have arrived in Turkey for training in the use and maintenance of the T129.

Last year, the African country purchased six T129 helicopters for counterterrorism operations in the country. It is currently preparing to receive its first T129.

TAI produces T129 attack helicopters under license from the Italian-British company AgustaWestland.

The company had earlier sold six T129s to the Philippines for $269 million, two of which have already been delivered. The remaining four will be handed over to the Philippine Army next year.
