The new S-400 battalion in Belarus is ready for combat service

The new battalion of the S-400 Triumph medium-range anti-aircraft missile system has been declared ready for combat service, TASS reported, citing the Ministry of Defense of Belarus on Friday.

“From today, the efficiency of the air defense to protect the airspace of Belarus has increased significantly: a new battalion of S-400 Triumph systems is ready for combat missions,” the ministry said.

The commander of the Belarusian Air Force and Air Defense Forces, Major General Andrei Lukyanovich, said that the S-400 crews have undergone training and trained their skills at the Kapustin Yar shooting range in Russia and are ready to complete combat missions.

Belarusian Defense Minister Viktor Khrenin previously confirmed that the S-400 missiles delivered from Russia have become a formidable weapon for the defense of the airspace of the Republic and the state of the Belarusian Russian Federation.

On May 28, the Belarusian Ministry of Defense announced the arrival of a new batch of S-400 surface-to-air missile systems in the republic, saying that the Belarusian anti-aircraft gunners had undergone full training at Russian training grounds to learn how to operate the system.

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko announced in December 2022 that the Russian S-400 and Iskander missile systems had entered service with the republic’s army.
