Belarusian Defense Minister Viktor Khrenin previously confirmed that the S-400 missiles delivered from Russia have become a formidable weapon for the defense of the airspace of the Republic and the state of the Belarusian Russian Federation.
On May 28, the Belarusian Ministry of Defense announced the arrival of a new batch of S-400 surface-to-air missile systems in the republic, saying that the Belarusian anti-aircraft gunners had undergone full training at Russian training grounds to learn how to operate the system.
Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko announced in December 2022 that the Russian S-400 and Iskander missile systems had entered service with the republic’s army.
The S-400 is an advanced air defense system developed and produced in Russia. The S-400 is a powerful and advanced air defense system that is used to protect land and airspace from various air threats such as missiles, aircraft and drones.
The system consists of several major components, including sensor systems, radars, combat and control systems. The S-400 is distinguished by its ability to detect, track and destroy air targets at distances of up to 400 km and at altitudes of up to 30 km.
The system is widely used in Russia and is also exported to many other countries. The S-400 is considered one of the main air defense systems in many countries, and it enhances the ability of these countries to defend themselves and protect territories and strategic interests.
The S-400 is characterized by its high flexibility in use and the ability to confront advanced threats. The system also employs multi-target missiles capable of effectively engaging a variety of air targets. Besides, the system is characterized by its advanced electronic and jamming capabilities, making it more difficult for the enemy to detect and neutralize.
