The Ukrainian Defense Forces claimed to have destroyed over a hundred Russian missiles of various types over the past month. These missiles included the Kh-47M2 Kinzhal hypersonic ballistic missile.
The Ukrainian Air Force claimed to have destroyed most of the more strategic Kh-101 and Kh-555 cruise missiles. These missiles are launched from Tu-95 launchers, which fly from the Finnish border to the Caspian Sea for the launch. A total of 123 Kh-101 and Kh-555 missiles were shot down in 30 days in June.
Caliber cruise missiles are in second place by a wide margin. Cruise Calibers are launched from ships in the Black Sea. The Ukrainian Air Force shot down a total of 16 such missiles during the month.
Kiev was attacked by seven Iskander-M ballistic missiles and six Kh-47M2 Kinzhal hypersonic missiles. The MIM-104 Patriot air defense system was able to destroy all airborne threats. Other anti-aircraft missile systems are not able to intercept such targets.
In addition, in June, the Ukrainian Defense Forces shot down three Iskander-K cruise missiles and two missiles, the type of which was not identified. Thus, 157 air threats were intercepted during the month.
