Russia’s MAKS Air Show will not go ahead as planned for the first time in the event’s 30-year history, with organizers confirming it has been postponed to 2024.
“Instead of 2023, the International Aviation and Aerospace Salon is scheduled for 2024, and the MAKS exhibition will also be held in 2025. The venue for the largest events in the aviation industry in the Eurasian space remains unchanged – the city of Zhukovsky, Moscow region,” an official statement read. Issued by MAKS organizers.
JSC Aviasalon said that it will continue to work with existing and potential participants and exhibitors of MAKS, including among foreign companies representing friendly countries.
And Russian media, citing its sources, reported in May that MAKS-2023 could be postponed to 2024 or held in a different format, or canceled entirely and returning in 2025.
MAKS is an international air show that takes place at Zhukovsky International Airport, in Zhukovsky, 40 km southeast of Moscow, Russia.
MAKS exhibition area covers more than 42 hectares. MAKS gathers more than 570 thousand participants and guests. Several new Russian aircraft were unveiled at the show, including the Sukhoi Su-57 and Sukhoi Su-75 “Checkmate”.
