The Russian military has revealed a new air defense system, and it is related to the self-propelled anti-aircraft gun (SPAAG), which is reported to be primarily designed against drones, and built on the basis of the BTR-82A armored chassis.
The system was presented at the Forum of Future Engineers in Tula Oblast.
The tower is equipped with an electro-optical system and a radar station for detecting air targets. The unit is armed with two 23mm automatic 2A7M anti-aircraft guns, which are also used in the ZSU-23-4 ‘Shilka’ self-propelled anti-aircraft gun.
