The Russian Ministry of Defense has received a new batch of advanced Su-35S fighter jets from the country’s aircraft manufacturers, underscoring the defense industry’s ability to offer state-of-the-art weaponry amid the ongoing and protracted war.

On June 23, the Russian Minister of Industry and Trade, Denis Manturov, announced the delivery of the new batch to the Russian Ministry of Defense.

“Russian aircraft manufacturers have produced and delivered another batch of new aircraft to the Russian Defense Ministry,” Manturov, who is also deputy prime minister, was quoted as saying in a statement.

In his statement, the minister described the Su-35S as one of the best operational and tactical aircraft in the world capable of carrying out various missions that deserve its good success.

According to the statement, the Su-35S, manufactured by the Yuri Gagarin-named Komsomolsk-on-Amur Aircraft Plant, part of the Russian government’s Rostec-based United Aircraft Corporation, has successfully arrived at its designated air base.

After being produced, the aircraft were subjected to extensive factory testing, with each aircraft passing comprehensive airborne evaluations in various operating modes to ensure its performance and functionality.

Despite facing crippling sanctions, the Russian defense industry continues to introduce various weapon systems amid the ongoing war, thus showing its flexibility in supporting the military.

The Russian Armed Forces are actively using the Su-35S in the area of special operations, in reference to Russia’s ongoing conflict in Ukraine. The Russian Ministry of Defense frequently releases sensational footage showing the precise and strategic combat maneuvers of the Su-35S.

These combat aircraft play an important role in protecting Russian Air Force bombers and Army helicopters during targeted strikes on the facilities and equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which reflects their vital contribution to the ongoing military operations.

Russia intends to increase the supply of su-57

Yuri Slyusar, General Director of the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC), said that UAC companies responsible for fulfilling state defense orders have received significant funds through the program of technical re-equipment and production modernization.

This investment has facilitated the introduction of new facilities and production capacities, which has enabled the company to expand serial production and increase production volume.

Slyusar confirmed the company’s commitment to fulfilling its contractual obligations. He revealed that the company will increase the supply of the fifth generation Su-57 fighters to the Russian Aerospace Forces.

Slyusar noted, “This year, the volume of supplies to the Russian Air Force of fifth-generation Su-57 fighters has increased.” He also revealed that the production of subsequent batches of the Su-35 is currently underway.

Serial deliveries of the Su-57 began in 2022, and by the end of 2024, the Air Force is expected to receive a total of 22 fighters. By 2028, the number of Su-57 fighters in active service will be increased further, to a total of 76 fighters.
