With 100% accuracy, the Ukrainian Air Force destroyed 11 out of 11 Iskander ballistic and cruise missiles in the Kiev region.

On May 29, 2023, at approximately 4:30 PM (EST) or 09:30 (Pacific Time), the Kyiv region was attacked by ballistic missiles launched from the north. The Air Force destroyed 100% of these threats.

Colonel Yuriy Ihnat, a spokesman for the Ukrainian Air Force, said Russia may have used 9M723 missiles from the Iskander-M operational-tactical missile system, which fly on a ballistic trajectory. This information was later confirmed.

An Iskander-K missile was also shot down. They are indeed cruise missiles. It’s easier to drop it. Patriot and SAMP/T surface-to-air missile systems are used to intercept ballistic threats. In total, the air defense system was able to shoot down 11 out of 11 Iskander-K and Iskander-M missiles.

The Iskander-K is a Russian-made short-range cruise missile based on an 8×8 military truck chassis. The design of the Iskander-K is very similar to the Iskander-M, which is a ballistic missile. For the Iskander-Ka, the vehicle can be equipped with two to six container launch units capable of launching the 9M728 also called the R-500, or the 9M729 which is a ground-based version of the 3M14 Caliber-NK. The Iskander-Ka was first tested in May 2007 and entered service with the Russian Armed Forces in 2009. The Iskander-Ka is designed to conduct operational tactical strikes. The mobile cruise missile system is being deployed by the Russian Armed Forces to conduct combat operations in Ukraine.

Iskander: The first version of the Iskander missile system, capable of launching a tactical missile with a range of up to 200 km.

Iskander-M: 400 km range, with the possibility of extending it to 500 km. Speed ​​6-7 Mach, flight altitude up to 6-50 km, nuclear-capable stealth missile, all-stage controlled, non-ballistic flight trajectory. Immediately after launch and on approach to the target, the missile performs intense maneuvers to evade anti-ballistic missiles. The missile constantly maneuvers in flight, too.
