The Hebrew newspaper “Yedioth Ahronoth” said that Israel is considering handing over the administration of the Gaza Strip to Egypt and extending its area with lands from the city of Arish, with the possibility of establishing an independent “Gaza State”.
According to the newspaper, Israel is studying a plan according to which Egypt will assume responsibility for managing the governance of the Gaza Strip, after converting it into a huge tourist resort from which Egypt will benefit economically, in addition to extending the area of the sector with lands from the Egyptian city of Arish in the Sinai Peninsula.
According to the report, the commercial port that will be established on the shores of the Gaza Strip will serve the movement of goods into and out of Sinai and with the Red Sea.
And the “Israel Defense” magazine, issued by the Israeli army, stated in a report last month that Israel wants to replace the Hamas rule in the Gaza Strip with another Palestinian party or another Arab party, that is more moderate, like Egypt.
She said that Egypt is suitable for this position because it has borders with the Gaza Strip, and ruled this region in the past, and most of its population is Sunni Arabs, like the majority of the population in Egypt, and the regime in Egypt maintains relations with the heads of organizations in the Gaza Strip.
The magazine claimed that Israel does not want to control the Gaza Strip again, and still remembers well the previous experience of controlling the price of “this hornet’s nest,” adding that with all the problems caused by the Gaza Strip, dealing with it from outside is better than dealing with it from the outside. Inside.
