The Algerian army revealed in video footage today from the Fajr 2023 exercise of the Algerian army that it possesses the Chinese-made Wing Loong 2 drone.
Algerian President Tebboune banned the implementation of the exercise in the state of Djelfa.
Algeria acquires 24 Wing Loong II aircraft
Sources had reported in 2021 that the Algerian Air Force had ordered 24 Wing Loong II drones from China, with 24 aircraft from the Chinese company AVIC.
It was expected that the aircraft would be delivered at the end of the current year 2021, and the deadline for delivery is 2022.
It is worth noting that the cost of each aircraft is $ 5 million.
The United Arab Emirates had delivered to Algeria an unknown number of “Wing Loong 2” drones. To organize these aircraft to the stock of Algerian-made drones (Era 54) in partnership with the United Arab Emirates and the People’s Republic of China.
