Ukraine may receive Swedish-German TAURUS cruise missiles with a range of up to 500 km

The Ukrainian Air Force has recently started using the Franco-British “Storm Shadow” cruise missiles. It is possible that Ukraine will receive other similar weapons.

Member of the Bundestag Roderich Kieswetter proposed transferring TAURUS cruise missiles to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He said this in an interview with Redaktionsnetzwerk Deutschland (RDN). Keesewetter is a member of the Foreign Committee of the Bundestag and a representative of the opposition Christian Democratic Union (CDU). According to him, the TAURUS missiles could be “a useful contribution by Germany.” Unfortunately, there is no specific information about the delivery of these missiles yet.

TAURUS is a Swedish-German air-to-surface missile. It is designed for high-precision strikes and for hitting highly defended targets at ranges up to 500 km. The missile was manufactured by Taurus Systems GmbH (a joint venture between MBDA Deutschland and Saab Bofors Dynamics AB). The approximate cost of one missile is 1 million US dollars.
