An Aloha Moment

I’ve been trying really hard to fuel my body with more nutritious foods lately. I know if I feed my body right, my skin will look better and my body will feel better. I’ve been taking these nutrients called The Foundation by Aloha which are packets filled with seven capsules that each have their own special formulas. Be brilliant, be young + strong and be protected. Be brilliant capsules support beautiful skin and keep you focused, while the be young + strong capsules support healthy bones and happy hearts which is incredibly important. Last one is the be brilliant capsules which defend and de-stress your body. I’ve been taking these almost everyday for nearly a year. I’m not sure if they have made a difference in my skin but I do feel better about my health and my body every time I remember to take these.

I received a protein packet with my last Aloha order, which I was excited and a bit disappointed about. You see I’m not the biggest protein fan. I find it really hard to drink protein powders and find it a bit dumb to force myself to drink something I don’t like. Up until now I’ve hated protein powders, until I gave Aloha’s vegan protein powder a shot. I made a few of their recipes and I’ve had a change of heart. I actually enjoy sipping on a protein smoothie. As long as I can hide that protein flavor I have no problem at all drinking one. Alohas protein powder is really chocolaty, so that helps a ton in masking the protein flavor I dislike so much. With the right ingredients you can make a really tasty protein smoothie. Like this one I found on Aloha called Green Mocha Madness, doesn’t that sound delicious?  The recipe calls for 1/2 an avocado but if you’re not in to avocados you can use a banana, which will make your smoothie sweeter. I also sprinkled unsweetened coconut on top and toasted a little amount so that I could make a cute little heart. Feels great that my tummy was filled with delicious goodness!

This recipe makes two servings.

Ingredients

1/2 avocado ( you can totally use a banana!)

1/2 cup raw spinach

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1 tablespoon raw cacao ( I substituted cocoa powder )

1 1/2 cups unsweetened vanilla almond milk ( you can choose whatever milk you prefer )

1 shot espresso or 1/4 cup strong brewed coffee

2 scoops ALOHA Chocolate Protein

1 packet ALOHA Daily Good Chocolate ( just some fruits and veggies in a powder form )

1 1/2 Tablespoons un-sweeted shredded coconut

Preparation

Throw everything together in a blender of some sort and voila a smoothie in no time.
